COACHES, CONSULTANTS, ADVISORS

Vincelombardi2702294

Coaches tend to listen well. They hear the subtle suffering on the other end of the line. They transform lives. Great coaches like Vince Lombardi say wonderful, unforgettable things. They say things like, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all."

Oh but my dear coach.....you do change lives BUT, when it comes to changing yourself and your own practice? Fatigue sets in. You give no thought to healing thyself. Who thinks to find someone to coach the coach?

Most coaches don't know their value. They vastly underrate the impact they have on their clients' lives and businesses. And they undercharge for their services.

What happens, then, when they raise their fees? My experience has proven that some very good, counter-intuitive things happen:

RAISE YOUR FEES AND WHAT HAPPENS?

      1. More clients are drawn to your practice. Paradox!
      2. The quality of your clients improves. (Heaven.)
      3. Your own work improves. (You wake up and rise up.)
      4. Clients are more committed to getting results so they
            a. listen better.
            b. follow recommendations more enthusiastically.
            c. show up on time for sessions and rarely cancel.
            d. produce results faster.
            e. are more likely to spontaneously refer other clients.
            f. will refer people to you who are more suitable for your stronger fees.

In my six month school (two full days live and intensive at the front May 30, 31 and another live day at the end Nov. 22) for coaches we will address the only thing standing in the way of stronger fees-fear of what people would think. That fear can be eliminated by learning communication skills for fee discussions. Learning and practicing.

Most coaches don't understand what they are truly worth to their clients. Even when the client reports a major financial breakthrough because of the coaching, the coach doesn't get what happened. Can you relate to that? I can!

So I coached you for 30 minutes for $300 and you made that $10,000 extra commission based on what we did together. Most coaches don't allow such moments to readjust their values. They think, "That will even out over time," not realizing that it would take more than thirty fruitless sessions for that to balance out. (And most coaches I know have even more jaw-dropping stories than that for the transformation they have delivered.)

Many coaches I know get better and better at coaching as they go along. Most would say they are twice as effective as they were three years ago. But do their fees reflect that? No. Usually their fees are virtually the same!

Most time management challenges faced by coaches and speakers today are caused by fees that are too low. Their schedules are jammed up with small fee clients demanding their time. They can't see that larger fees would simplify their lives and sort out their schedules quickly. Their own money fears creep in and sabotage their practices.

In the Steve Chandler six month Coaching School -

      - You will report your progress each week via email to Steve.
      - You will receive an email from Steve each week on another Proven Method for growing the prosperity of your practice.

Why REPORTING PROGRESS works:

When you are accountable each week to report to me (and the other eight coaches) your progress, you tend to think all that week in terms of progress. You know you're going to be reporting it, so you think more about it and how to achieve it. It becomes your creative theme.

When you have no such path of accountability you slide back into past habits. I know I do! We repeat the past. The bold and innovative part of you goes to sleep. Or rather it doesn't. Not entirely. What usually happens is that it emerges for others but not for you. You reveal it when you are coaching your clients. That's you at your best! Your most spontaneously resourceful!

Yet when it comes to your own practice, you are not accountable to anyone. So you lose energy and get repetitive. The past simply repeats itself from its own momentum.

We will change that with six months of accountability. You will enjoy being held accountable to your own potential.

*****************************************************

In addition to some surprises I can't talk about yet, You Will Receive:

      1. Weekly email check-in to report your billing breakthroughs.

      2. Pre-seminar worksheet to answer the 27 questions necessary to immediately expand your coaching practice.

      3. A KINDLE device from AMAZON with BUSINESS COACHING on it.

      4. Practice negotiating for very large coaching fees and retainers-a copy of Jim Camp's No with hands-on facilitated practice in applying his negotiating technique specifically to coaching.

      5. Training in curiosity selling and Socratic, question-based selling as it applies to coaching clients and contracts.

      6. The practice-building systems taught to Steve Chandler by the ultimate coach Steve Hardison who charges $150,000 per client a year for coaching.

      7. Value through limitation. Limitation creates value in the mind of your coaching prospect. How to limit your availability so your work carries more value. Limitation creates value, especially in coaching.

      8. Deming's Mission Applied to Coaching. Deming was the great business genius who revolutionized the auto industry with his ideas in the 1970s and 1980s. His first mission was always to eliminate fear from the organization. Our work together will also place The Elimination of Fear from your practice-building as our primary focus.

      9. Best practices. Each coach in the room will share their best practices in the realm of wealth-creating through coaching.

      10. How to use a speaking engagement to acquire coaching clients and contracts.

*****************************************************

I could stage an event with a few hundred coaches in it and deliver this "information" as information. There are now hundreds of thousands of coaches ready to benefit from such a seminar. But to me it is more important that nine coaches actually get it rather than hundreds learning "about it." I choose to have nine coaches get these transformations deep down. At the cellular level. At the DNA level. Or, as jazz great Charles Mingus used to say, "Better get it in your soul."

Call me or email me if you would like to be one of the nine.

On May 30 and 31 at a hotel conference room in Phoenix and again on November 22 at the same place we will meet to engage in an active inquiry.

Nine coaches will be selected (some of whom also do public speaking) to join me at this retreat where the focus will be on doubling one's income.

Inside these sessions, which will run from 8am to 6pm each day, with lunch served, we will share our best practices in creating wealth through service as coaches. I will share three recent case histories of coaches I have coached who have more than doubled their monthly income from the coaching. I will share my own inside information on how my personal practice has also more than doubled in income over the past year.

Our focus on doubling will create a major opening for you if you are one of us (only nine will participate, so that each of you receives exhaustive attention from myself and the group).

Without deliberately inquiring into the doubling of our income throughout every moment of the two days of retreat together we would simply be "improving" our practices which normally adds a 10 to 15 per cent increase in income.

Most people and businesses never think beyond improvement. Therefore they never get out of Groundhog Day increments, merely reliving the past each year. Rather than a fresh prosperous future, their year will always be the past revisited. There is no created future. . . just another "newer, better past." But it's still the past. This is why most incomes of good companies and private practices improve by only 10% over the previous year.

When we expand the mind to the concept of doubling, fresh ideas for breakthroughs emerge, because they have to. In the case of the three coaches I myself coached, we never looked at "improvement" as a worthy use of coaching time. Instead we committed to reinvention and revolution of the practice, to include fee structure, marketing, time management, referral systems and many other avenues for quantum increases in revenue.

Does this concept work? The three coaches whose case histories I will detail in our sessions are the only coaches I fully coached in the past two years. So three out of three is good math for this. And I myself, who have been coached by the ultimate coach Steve Hardison, doubled my own income immediately a year and a half ago when I began my four-year contract with him. So it's four of four. Where it's gone since then is even more remarkable, and those details will be shared with this team of nine elite coaches who are ready for the experience of doubling everything (including time off to write, meditate or be with family).

Because I am limiting this to nine coaches, please move quickly to secure your place at the table. And do not commit to this experience if you are not ready and willing to share your total practice with us (including psychological details) and to work VERY hard toward total reinvention of how you do business.

On November 22 we will all meet again and share successes and take corrective action wherever necessary to align whomever is not at the doubling level yet.

The first nine who sign up are the ones who will be at the table. More details will follow as soon as the group is complete which should be very shortly, so contact me on my private line (602-616-5784) with your decision. Remember this is for professional coaches/consultants only.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Now, if you haven't got an answer, you'd never have a question
And if you never had a question, then you'd never have a problem
But if you never had a problem, well everyone would be happy
But if everyone was happy, there'd never be a love song.

IT'S EASIER TO DOUBLE YOUR INCOME

Steve3731451

If you have a small business, or if you are a small business (such as a coach, or a speaker or a writer or a consultant) it is often easier to double your income than it is to increase it by 10%.

Why would that be? Or, better still, how could that possibly be true?

First let me say that in my experience it is true. The people I have coached over the past few years have learned to double their incomes rather than the normal striving for incremental improvement.

Doubling works because it opens the mind. It creates a future from nothing--a blank canvas--rather than just polishing up the old past habits.

Many times when I work with clients who are commissioned major account sales people--or people who sell anything for a living--I begin by asking them this question: "If you had to double your income, what would you do? If you absolutely had to."

It's amazing all the new ideas that arise from that question. It's also interesting that the courage factor increases immediately. Because we can do anything, virtually, if we really have to.

You might not really have to double your monthly income. But if we play that mind game long enough--and I hold you to it and don't let you waffle or slide--then you will build a sound, effective strategy for doubling your income.

Why don't people just do that on their own? Why do they need a workshop or a coach to hold them to the task?

The mind drifts. The mind likes the movie Groundhog Day. It likes to live and work in the past. It feels safer to simply repeat in sleepwalking mode what was done last month and last year. Why reinvent the wheel? Is what the ego keeps asking.

But a good stretch game removes that false attempt at self protection.

The truth is, if you had to double your income, you would do it immediately and you would know what to do. Because new energy and focus would enter into your day. In fact, you could double it even faster if you took an extra day off each week. Paradoxical, yes, but true. My case histories bear me out, and my own coaching-writing-speaking practice bears me out. So I've done it and I've taught it.

My own coach Steve Hardison has, in fact, held me to something far bigger than doubling once he and I achieved doubling (it took two months). I had gone without any coaching for a couple years and I had lapsed into the Groundhog cycle of repeating my own past. As if in a dream. As if asleep to possibility.

Eckhart Tolle says in A New Earth, "Most people are possessed by thought, by the mind. And since the mind is conditioned by the past, you are then forced to reenact that past again and again."

I am going to put nine coaches--life coaches, counselors, business coaches--through a six-month program that features two live dates, May 30 and 31, and again November 22.

In the six months between the live workshops we will check in by email every Friday to report progress.

This school is for coaches interested in doubling their income through proven methods of practice-building. If you are a coach and have an interest in attending please email me at 100ways@compuserve.com.

My own coaching practice has more than doubled in the past year and so have the practices of the three coaches I have personally coached. My six-month school will be difficult so please don't apply if you are not prepared to revolutionize and reinvent your coaching practice and take on a completely new approach to money and wealth. Only nine will attend in Phoenix May 30 and 31, and again November 22 in all-day, full-length sessions.

THERE IS A FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH

Sophialoren4760874

If I do not keep this playbook, then I'll have the plays of my life sent in from society that has a vested interest in frightening me and confusing me so that it can keep me on a neurotic spendaholic edge.

Every once in awhile the triumph of the human spirit comes through, and I want to capture that for my playbook. And yes I call my collection of quotes a playbook. It's what I live from.

      Use your playbook. Coach yourself.

It reverberates with everything you do

"Each smallest act of kindness reverberates across great distances and spans of time, affecting lives unknown to the one whose generous spirit was the source of this good echo, because kindness is passed on and grows each time it's passed, until a simple courtesy becomes an act of selfless courage years later and far away."
      - H.R. White

Try profiting from the law of the harvest

"There is an inherent law of mind that we increase whatever we praise. The whole of creation responds to praise, and is glad. Animal trainers pet and reward their charges with delicacies for acts of obedience; children glow with joy and gladness when they are praised. Even vegetation grows better for those who love it."
      - Charles Fillmore

Just keep making us happy when skies are gray

"No ray of sunshine is ever lost, but the green which it awakens into existence needs time to grow; and it is not always granted to the sower to see the harvest. All the work that is worth anything is done in faith."
      - Albert Schweitzer

Is it going to be Ted Bundy or you?

It's the Ted Bundys that get television coverage, not the thousands of self-actualizers who work away at self-transformation quietly and anonymously. And it's their influence, not that of the Ted Bundys, that will shape the face of the coming century.

Coach John Wooden's secrets

"Discipline yourself, and others won't need to," Coach John Wooden would tell his players. "Never lie never cheat, never steal," and "Earn the right to be proud and confident." John Wooden was the most successful college basketball coach of all time. No one has ever even come close.

Rick Reilly, the talented sportswriter, recalls that if you played for him, you played by his rules: Never score without acknowledging a teammate. One word of profanity, and you're done for the day. Treat your opponent with respect. Wooden believed in hopelessly out-of-date stuff that never did anything but win championships. No dribbling behind the back or through the legs. ("There's no need," he'd say.) No UCLA basketball number was retired under his watch. "What about the fellows who wore that number before? Didn't they contribute to the team?" Coach Wooden would say.

No long hair, no facial hair. "They take too long to dry, and you could catch cold leaving the gym," he'd say. That one drove his players bonkers.

One day, All-America center Bill Walton showed up with a full beard. "It's my right," he insisted. Wooden asked if he believed that strongly. Walton said he did. "That's good, Bill," Coach said. "I admire people who have strong beliefs and stick by them, I really do. We're going to miss you." Walton shaved it right then and there. Now Walton calls once a week to tell Coach he loves him.

BLIND LIFE COACH SLICES LEMON

Johnlennon1700700
"It is well known that all ogres live in Ceylon, and that all their beings are contained in a single lemon. A blind man slices the lemon, and all the ogres die."

- Jorge Luis Borges

I moved into coaching reluctantly. I would give talks and the clients would ask me to stay an extra day after the talk and "coach" various individuals.

If I hadn't been coached myself by the ultimate coach I would be totally blind to what coaching could do. Now I was just partially blind.

I knew one thing about coaching. It would be two people talking. Two people instead of one. It would break the isolation. That sense of isolation a person feels trapped in their own ego. "People say we got it made," sang John Lennon. "Don't they know we're so afraid?" His song was called "Isolation."

Lennon's lyrics were often bold and brutal. Especially after he left McCartney and did his primal scream therapy emerging with this musical vow that I myself vow as well, "No short haired yellow bellied son of tricky dick is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me with just a pocketful of hope." Never! No way.

Alas for those that never sing! That's what Oliver Wendell Holmes said. "Alas for those that never sing, But die with their music in them."Pinkfloydthewall718545

When a guy like me dies with his music still in him it's a shock to the pathologist when he opens me up and the music is released. All the attendants in the autopsy room back away from the body they have now dubbed "pink Floyd."

Waking up in Santa Monica where I am to visit my friends at the University of Santa Monica today to coach some of them on the fine arts of communication and fundraising. An interesting thing I've noticed over the years about training and coaching. The people who want it the most need it the least.

Our flight over yesterday was delayed by about 45 minutes. The flight from Phoenix to Los Angeles is usually about an hour in the air. As we were preparing for take-off, the passenger asked the flight attendant, "Will we make up the time we lost?" That would mean a 15 minute flight which I would consider a safety hazard. But isn't it amazing how some people just can't say no? Our flight attendant said, "We'll do what we can." Which is code for "we need IQ screening at security."

THAT THING YOU DO

You can put your energy into the promotion of your work. You can brochure and rolodex and network on the internet. Or you can put that energy into your work. The work itself. That thing you do.

Sam Phillips owned Sun Records in Memphis when the young, unknown Elvis Presley first came in to make a record. Sam Phillips said, "Now, you've got to keep in mind that Elvis Presley was probably, innately, the most introverted person that came into that studio. Because he didn't play with bands. He didn't go to this little club and pick and grin. All he did was sit with his guitar on the side of his bed at home."

                                                    * * * * * * * * * * *

The neighbors would occasionally complain about the high-pitched sounds coming out of Brandon Craig's garage. What was he doing in there?

Well, he was building gates. Gates made out of wrought iron. Did he know how to do that? No. He was teaching himself. He wanted a nice gate in the drive of his own home and after checking around town and finding that prices and quality varied wildly, he decided to build his own. He borrowed a welding torch. He got some iron. It was just trial and error.

Except that when the gate was up and finished the neighbors started admiring it. Soon Brandon was building more gates, teaching himself along the way.

His first business cards said "Brandon Craig, Rod Iron." That's how he heard the phrase "wrought iron" and time was short. No time to do a lot of research on wrought iron works because customers were clamoring for his work.

Business cards, brochures, rolodexes and internet networking never appealed much to Brandon because he was too busy serving to worry much about that. His energy went into the work itself. He had a passion for building things right. Which is why he called his company BiltRite.

In my mastermind group Brandon shares his passion for creating wrought iron products -- he passes around photos. He steps to the white board and explains how his thriving company has 28 valued employees serving over 100 custom home builders.

Brandon Craig steps to the white board and writes:

            1. GROW
            2. CREATE
            3. SELL
            4. SERVE

This is his consciously maintained cycle of success and when I ask him what "grow" means he says, "Myself. I grow myself so I am capable and worthy of the other three."

And serve? Does that mean following up with your customers?

      "Not just customers,"

Brandon says. "Serving everyone . . . employees . . . . people . . . anyone . . . everyone."

Brandon has always had a gift for selling -- and it's a gift he loves passing on. "I love to sell and I love to train other people and teach them, too."

Brandon

's work is beautiful -- I toured his manufacturing plant and the wrought iron creations were more than impressive -- look for yourself here: http://www.biltritegates.com/. It's a site for sore eyes. Great beauty in the work.

You can actually see the four steps in the artful work: 1) Grow 2) Create 3) Sell and 4) Serve.

And if you want to know more about how to train people to love selling and serving call Brandon Craig. He'll talk to you. It's his passion.
